The Pope – Tarot Card Number V

The character represented on this Tarot card is an old man, symbolizing purity.

The accessories of his clothing are divine material and intellectual world symbols.

The furniture of his palate represent the moral law, the free will.

The symbols of seven traditional planets (the Moon, Jupiter, Venus…) are drawn on his crozier.

Basic significance of the Pope card:

In the right position, this Tarot card represents indulgence, wisdom, protection, kindness, being devoted to traditions.

In the reversed position, this Tarot card symbolizes cowardice, frivolity, lack of conscience.

Example:

A mother wants to know if her child; who wants to become lawyer and will study at the University; will succeed. In fact, she worries in front of his lack of enthusiasm and the kind of people he meets.

This Tarot card symbolizes the choice, the free will.

Basic significance:

In the right position, The Lovers represents love of beautiful things, the choices, youth, discovery of love…

In the reversed position, The Lovers represents selfishness, instability…

Example:

A consulting person wants to know if her fiance will decide to marry her because he always seems to avoid this subject.

Let’s pull four major arcana: on the left is The Empress, on the right is The Justice, at the top is The Sun and at the bottom is The Lovers card.

Interpretation: The Empress reveals us that her fiance loves our consulting person very much, but The Justice in a negative position means that something related to Justice blocks the situation (is this man already married, not divorced yet, is he a foreigner and does not have a residence card, etc).

The Sun card represents our consulting person and her question (The Sun is happiness) and The Lovers teaches us that her fiance does not know what to do, hesitates but will probably make the good choice.

The synthesis is 9. The 9th number is The Hermit arcana. It confirms that her fiance is a discrete person, he requires time to make his decisions, to tell the truth to our consulting person about his situation.
